Goodbye Karbon, Hello Hansgrohe

The day finally came when I had to make the decision: Choose between the Kohler Karbon kitchen faucet or my sanity. I really tried to come up with a million reasons why I should get it, but in the end, I just couldn't see spending that much for a faucet. I mean, really, it's just a way to get water into your sink, so why does it cost more than my first car?

I had started feeling this way a month or so ago, and went into a kitchen showroom to look at some other options. I found the Franke Professional Faucet:

I thought, well, this isn't exactly what I wanted, but it will do. And then I found out the price. It was $300 more than the Karbon. Yeah, I'm all about saving money.

So it was back to the drawing board and I did tons of internet research and found this great faucet:

It's the Hansgrohe Talis High Arc, and to be honest, I love it, and it's 1/3 the price of the others. It may not articulate like the Karbon, it may not have the diamond etched nozzle like the Franke Professional, but it also doesn't cost as much as a mortgage payment.

See, I am all about saving money.

I hate plumbing fixtures! Everything I have selected is a compromise. Each faucet I have liked has made me choke when I look at the price tag.

It's most likely too little too late, but did you check overstock.com? They have cheap(er) faucets and kitchen sinks.

I know your pain. Good luck and good green.
